Remember my Project 10×12 – October 2013 last October’s Project 10×12? We went to Elms resort’s garden again last weekend. It’s still early in the spring. There’re no leaves on the tree, but it’s definitely getting warmer. We are planning a few big trips this year, so we will practice taking Audrey and Wesley out more to get them “trained”.
Due to the extreme weather in Kansas City, either freezing cold winter or super hot summer, plus the allergy season in the Spring. There’s really not that much days we could go out to enjoy the nice weather. I’m taking every bit of chance to take my kiddos out. Let them play and I could take pictures of them. Last time I brought my 24-70 when we spent a night in this resort. I captured lots of cool landscape shots along with some of the best pictures of Audrey and Wesley. This time I brought my 70-200 and stayed pretty far from them most of time. Daddy was protecting them from a distance. The results is very different from last time. Audrey and Wesley were playing with leaves, rocks, tree branches, and throwing them into the creek. These two totally ignored my existence while playing. I did not dress them for pictures. I just brought my camera. They did not look at my camera at all when I captured these natural moments. It’s more candid and I love it.
I encourage moms to take your child out more when it’s nice outside and take pictures of them while they are playing. You might catch something you never know about your child.

Wow, what great pictures. Love the quality and the blurred backgrounds. Also loved how you captured the personalities. Excellent pictures.
Thank you Janet!
Your kids are adorable! I can’t wait for it to get warmer out so that we can go outside and discover! I need to do a better job at just letting the kids be kids and not expecting posed photos all of the time!
Thanks Katie! I would love to see your candid pictures of your kids!
