With a theme of “Timeless Beauty,” the 2015 Adorn Style Show & Brunch was a fabulous day fusing fashion, fun and philanthropy. Emcee Michelle Davidson, host of KSHB-TV’s Kansas City Live, welcomed more than 600 guests attending the event held September 19 in the Grand Ballroom at Bartle Hall.
The high-energy style show, hosted by the Harvest Ball Society, featured the latest clothing from some of the Kansas City area’s finest boutiques and emerging designers including Alaskan Fur, Alicia Janesko Caftans & Resort Wear, Alysa Rene Boutique and many more.”
Before and after the show, guests browsed the Avenue of Shops, buying fashions from exclusive boutiques and local merchants. Guests also enjoyed a tasty brunch and decadent cupcake desserts.
“Proceeds from the Adorn Style Show & Brunch help the Harvest Ball Society fund grants to 30 local charities that primarily serve people in need in the Northland,” says Christine Evans, 2015 president of the Harvest Ball Society. “I’d like to thank our Adorn sponsors and guests who made a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families served by those charities.”
The above paragraphs were quoted from the Kansas City Magazine news release on thisiskc.com. Although my photos have been published cross media before, but this is the first time that I am being credited. This is the third year in a row I am shooting Kansas City’s premier fashion show – Adorn Style Show and Brunch. Invited by Harvest Ball Society as the official Adorn Style Show fashion photographer, I photographed this year’s Adorn Style Show and Brunch at Bartle Hall of Kansas City Convention Center. It is my honor and pleasure to support one of the biggest charities in Kansas City. This is my way of giving back to the community. The funds raised from this fashion show will support over 60 local charities.
As always the beautiful models are from Kansas City’s leading modeling agency Exposure Modeling & Talent Agency. Compare to last year’s show, there are a big number of new faces on the runway. The fashion show itself was produced and choreographed by the president of Exposure – Jennifer Mangan. Unlike a typical fashion show, models usually have no facial expressions on their face, Jennifer added lots of interactive sparkles on the runway. Models smile at audience, they make eye contacts with each other, some shake hands, some blew kisses to each other, and one male model even handed a flower to one of the ladies sat at a runway seat. It is just so unique that no other fashion week shows could beat this show. This recap video of Adorn Style Show 2015 is produced by commercial photographer Brad Austin.

Lai has such cute ideas for her photo sessions!! Very different ideas and props for each individual client and awesome backdrops!! She treats each session very personally and does fantastic work! She took Valentine’s Day pictures of my son in her studio and they turned out extremely cute!! She spent hours of her personal time editing our photos and went above and beyond what I ever would have expected! She even posted pictures online for us to see as she finished editing them, which started… Read more
My family has taken many photos with different photographers but I was especially drawn to Bokeh Story Photos because of their idea of telling a story with the photographs. Lai made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera. She let us do our own thing while periodically posing us as well. She also did a great job in capturing the expressions of our baby boy, which is not an easy thing to do since they can be quite fleeting! I would recommend this service to anyone who wants a spec… Read more
“I have been around photographers for many years, and it is easy to see that the quality and experience during my photo sessions were extraordinary. I had a lot of fun, and the pictures turned out great. I would recommend having pictures taken with her to any of my friends, without hesitation.”
Looks like a fantastic event. Great shots
