Adorn Style Show 2014 | Kansas City Fashion Photographer

I fell in love with shooting runway fashion show after last year’s Adorn Style Show and Brunch. Invited by Harvest Ball Society as the official Adorn Style Show fashion photographer, I photographed this year’s Adorn Style Show and Brunch at Bartle Hall of Kansas City Convention Center. As one of the incentives of being a Tres Chic Sponsor this year, I was given a booth to showcase my art work and promote Bokeh Story Photos. Unfortunately, I could not be at my booth for even one minute because I was busy taking pictures for the vendors before the fashion show started. With generous help from two friends, my booth had a great flow and coverage. My two beautiful friends were mistakenly thought as runway models by several guests.

The great thing about taking pictures for vendors at a high end event like this is to networking with designers and boutiques. It was so great to meet the designer and owner of Alicia Janesko from Alicia Janesko Caftans and Resort Wear. She looked like a goodness when I first saw her sitting at her booth. I asked her to keep her pose and if I could take a picture of her. She kindly said yes.

There’re so many unique crafts, accessories, and stylish clothing from all the local boutiques and designers. It was great to see some familiar faces that I met from last year.

The talented Wendy McMillian from WM Couture designed all these gorgeous gowns that were showcased at Adorn Style Show.

This year’s Adorn is another full house. Everyone seemed really enjoyed the three course meal and the fashion show. I had ten minutes before transition to the ballroom, so I sneaked into backstage, which I did not have a chance to do that last year. It was so great to see some of my friends and meet new friends.

Last and my favorite part is the fashion show by models from Exposure Model & Talent agency. Most models from Adorn are re-runs, but there’re some new faces this year, including Miss Missouri Teen USA Samantha Bower. The major difference this year is the runway choreography. Models have more interaction with each other. They look at each other, they dance, and they high five with each other. You don’t see this much interaction at normal fashion show like Kansas City Fashion Week. I was also at the rehearsal the day before. The show is choreographed by president of Exposure Model & Talent Jennifer Mangan. She is a talented and diligent artist and business woman. Adorn cannot run without her. This is the high-end fashion show in Kansas City. I was telling everyone that Adorn is like Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in the Midwest. If you are interested in fashion and missed it this year, you should definitely consider going.
