It was my honor and pleasure to photograph baby Eli’s 8 months studio session! I photographed this cutie pie’s lifestyle newborn back in January and now he is 8 months! Time flies… Eli is almost a toddler now.
Eli’s mommy Michelle and I brainstormed ideas before the session. She hand picked two sets of backdrop/floordrops for Eli. I love the aqua whale on his romper, which matches perfectly with my aqua chevron backdrop. First we had Eli sit on a crate to test his sitting skill. He aced it without any complains. Michelle said that Eli loves the camera. She takes pictures of him almost every day and he is very familiar with the picture concept. I could tell that he is a natural baby model. Eli also loves my Mr. Owl shutter buddy. He kept crawling towards me during the session, which was so cute.
Next, we stripped his clothes off and let him sit on the library floor. Baby Eli loves to read books. His daddy and mommy read to him every night at bed time. I bet he’s going to be a scholar in no time. After posing “naked” for a little bit, I gave him a book. He had so much fun “reading” and interacting with the book. Also I have never seen a baby this age could protect himself this well during a photoshoot. Eli always uses his proper etiquette while sitting or crawling in multiple poses without exposing his private area. I did not give him any directions about this.
Eli was getting a little tired after 30 minutes. His mommy fed him some milk and a pouch of mashed fruit, but he was still a little fuzzy. I know it was about time to use my secret baby weapon – yogurt melts! Who doesn’t like yogurt melts? Even grownups like me love them. I always keep a pack in my studio for my littlest friends. I put my favorite strawberry yogurt melts on his little stool. He started putting them in his mouth and then he was ON FIRE!
I was lucky to capture his flying drool while he was reaching the yogurt melts. You can tell he is teething. Even his drool looked so cute. He had lots of fun hiding in the library eating yogurt melts. We end the session with a few closeup headshots.
It was great session. Eli, you rocked this session! I just love seeing babies coming back! I look forward to see Eli in his 1 year on location session!
