This is another piece of work from mommy and me team. We had so much fun shooting in my studio when grandma was visiting in town during labor day weekend. I was going through Audrey’s wardrobe and found that she has way too many clothes than Wesley and a lot of them that she has not even worn. Why not find something nice and do a themed shoot? OK! I picked a few dresses and started.
She was wearing the green brown flower dress that day, so the first two shots were just testing lighting. The second white and navy dress is brand new. That one I ordered from a boutique in Hong Kong. She said she wanted some pictures with grandma while she was not dressed up. She knows that grandma cannot refuse her invitation. Then we put on the sailor dress that grandma bought her. This is my favorite outfit from all time. I hope she could still fit in it next summer, so I could take her to do some outdoor shoots. Surprisingly, but not too surprise, Wesley joined us again! I put him in a beach outfit that day, so it’s perfect match with Audrey’s sailor outfit. Wesley even found a perfect prop – a vintage microphone that I ordered but never used. Grandma has been singing this Chinese children’s song to them and he was humming all day long. It was a song that my grandma sang to me when I was growing up. Audrey and Welsey took turns to sing and I got lots of fun shots. I think that I break the traditional super posed studio shots with these images. Studio session could be super fun if kids are really doing something they enjoy.
At the end, I put on this retro yellow tunic on Audrey. It comes with matching headband and sunglasses! Still it matches the beach theme. Audrey posed a few and Wesley joined again. The best part of being Irish twins is that they are best friends. They are not afraid to show how much they love each other. It is great to document all these.
