This is my first outdoor session this year. I cannot wait for it to get warm and shoot more on location photos. We were really lucky it was warm and sunny when we did this session for Asher’s big 3. Now it’s cold and snowing again.
Do you remember Asher from my Valentine’s mini back in January? This beautiful boy is coming back for his official 3 year old pictures. His stylish mom put him in plaid shirt and jeans, which worked out great!
We started with a mini golf game to warm him up. I love to capture the candid moments of little kids.Next we moved to the deck stairs. He was so good and cooperate after having some mini-golf fun.Asher brought his favorite toys from the “Toy Story” – Woody and Buzz! After having fun with Woody and Buzz, we moved to sit on a little hill – slightly sloped lawn. My dad was in town and he helped me holding the reflector. I was so afraid to shoot pictures under direct sunlight before, but with my dad’s direction this turned out to be my best outdoor session ever! He is such a pro when it comes to lighting in photography and videography. Not to mention that he was a 3D animator and videographer and he started using Photoshop when it was Photoshop 1.0. I will share more about my dad in a future Bokeh Story. My dad used the gold surface of the reflector and Asher became a golden boy.We also had some fun with my prop vintage suitcases.Asher started asking for candies because I promised him that I would give him a big lollipop at the of our session like last time. He wanted it now!Hmm, thinking of his candy makes him happy.I love how he makes a funny face and then smiles within half a second!Asher came up with this pose by himself.I caught this one after we said we were done. He was climbing stairs with rocks and I went under the deck to capture this moment. Look at these beautiful eyes!He is such a candy lover! Asher worked so hard for his award at the end of the session – a giant stacking gummy lollipop! It’s almost becoming a tradition that I award my little friends something sweet with their parents’ permit. Again, I couldn’t resist taking pictures of him eating candy, so I picked up my camera again to captures these moments. He finished this giant lollipop within 5 minutes.Asher ended our session with the empty stick from the lollipop and started fencing – classic Asher!

Hahaha this is awesome!!! I didn’t realize you were going to have all the silly pictures on here too!! Hahaha!!! Not just a great photo shoot- but great memories!! Although you know how I ADORE the “staged” smiling pictures of Asher– I love how you captured all of his crazy faces and all of the expressions that he makes that I usually can’t capture myself! This is SO “Asher” for ya- happy one minute, then sassy, then mad, then laughing, then pouting, then silly, then whining, then excited, then annoyed, then shy, then creative, then impatient, then energetic, then smiley, then ornery, then funny, then sneaky, then poised, and then he starts over again…. Lol. Love it! So pleased with how these photos reveal Asher’s ongoing personality!!
Love this! He’s such a little cutie!
