Audrey’s second part of her birthday wish is not just to be Snow White, but also to dress up as their favorite princesses with her best friends! I originally planned an outdoor photoshoot at William Jewell College, but it got rained out. The weather forecast changed within two days of the scheduled photoshoot time. It was so hard to get all the girls together at the same time before Audrey’s birthday. These little ladies all have so many activities and classes outside of their preschool and kindergarten. Since we cannot change the session date and time, I could only look for alternate indoor locations in case it rains. After calling a couple indoor venues, one owner is so nice to offer me a tour. It is a bed and breakfast...
My little princess Audrey is turning six! I asked what she would like for her birthday. She said, “I want to be Snow White!” I said, “Perfect! Mommy can make your dream come true! Let me think of a good place and we will go from there!” That was the first part of her dream – to dress up as Snow White. I didn’t have to do much with her hair since her natural hair color is black and the length is perfect to dress up as Snow White. I did not use a huge red bow headband on her as it looked silly. Instead, I used a blue and red mixed headband with a medium sized bow. For makeup, I only applied little blush on her cheeks and put...

I always wanted to plan a themed child photo session. What would be a better reason to organize one for my little pumpkin Wesley’s 5th birthday? I contacted the moms of his best friends in his preschool, planned, executed the session. These are his best friends since they were babies. They play together and grow up together. Here’s our cast: Wesley as Batman Audrey as Batgirl Calvin as Robin Broderick as Captain America Tyler as Superman Not a surprise, all friends were super excited during the photoshoot. Although I had two pages of notes about the poses and scenes, the kids just knew that they were going to play superheros. Thanks to all the moms and dads who helped me during the session. It would be almost impossible to direct...
Rick Folten is a model and actor active in the midwest. He appeared in numerous films and TV series as well as over 200 TV commercials. I met Rick through shooting Adorn Style Show in 2013. I always enjoy shooting with Rick. From his Father Daughter story to his head shots, we have become good friends. I had the honor and pleasure to work with Rick again at Union Station earlier this month. Actors usually updates head shots every year while really active actors might need updates a few times a year. Rick had three different outfits to show his different looks. He invited his good friend actress Cari Burmaster for one of the scenes. We shot at Harvey’s at Union Station. This might one of the most romantic spot in...

After our fun ten outfits shoot, Audrey and I decided to do it again. There are still mountain of stylish and unqiue clothes in Audrey’s wardrobe. This time Audrey picked out her own matching hair piece. It was not that long before our session got crashed! Twice! Wesley was not too into studio photos last year. I had to put a little chair for him to sit still and take his pictures. After seeing Audrey in studio, Wesley demanded pictures of his own. He was not styled to be in the studio pictures and was holding his water bottle in his orange sweatshirt. This prooves that kids changes all the time and they will take good pictures when they are in great mood, or when they see someone else doing...
Remember Baby Elliott’s 6 months session? This cutie is back for his 1 year old studio session! I have been photographing this cutie since he was born in the hospital one year ago. After his Fresh 48, newborn, 3 months, and 6 months gaming theme session, he’s really growing up with me. I was honored to attend his big one year old birthday party two weeks ago and saw him smashing his first cake. His parents want to do a balloon and bubble themed studio session for his one year old photoshoot. So here we are, we filled studio with lots of balloons for the first setup and blew lots of bubbles for him to play after. Although he had a rough long week before the session, he still aced his...
I always think that subjects will be more relaxed in the second part of a session because they are really in the mood for taking pictures. Here are the second five outfits that we shot that day. I really love the red coat outfit and the grey sweater one. The red coat is actually 2T and she is four! It was too big for her last year, but it fits well now. As you can tell, she loves the coat too. She came up the poses demostrating her coat. She’s due for her modeling headshots, so I snapped a couple here and there. I love the red coat headshots and the grey sweater ones. She was on fire in the second part of our studio session. We are a great...
This is one special session for Matt and Alyzza. I met Matt from his big family reunion a few years ago. Our families became friends. I’ve witnessed him growing from a boy to a man. Matt contacted me a few weeks ago for prom photos. This is his junior prom. The way he asked his prom date is so romantic. He played guitar and sang Magic!’s “Rude”, but he changed lyrics a little bit to fit his needs. The girl’s dad also held a big poster for him to ask his daughter to go to prom with Matt. The girl of course said yes. She is Alyzza – an almost 16 years old girl where Matt go to dance class with for a long time. Matt and Alyzza are both...
