As a Kansas City based child photographer, I had the opportunity to sponsor the Northland Kansas City Macaroni Kid Baby Brunch a few weeks ago. Macaroni Kid is a free weekly newsletter and website that delivers news on all the kid and family friendly events going on in your community. From movie listings to junior play writing, from ballroom dancing to PAL basketball, from sailing classes to origami classes, you can find all the amazing events happening in your own backyard on Macaroni Kid! National Macaroni Kid invites their top Publications to host a special day for Moms and babies 3 and under. It’s a day for Moms meeting each other in the area, and walk away with free products from sponsors!
I was invited by my local publisher Jamie Goodwin from Kansas City Northland to photograph the event. In just 2 1/2 years, she was able to boost the subscribers from 278 to almost 6,000! This was her second time hosting the baby brunch in her home. My entire family was invited to attend the brunch. This is the perfect event for me as my goal this year is to spend as much time with my family as possible. Audrey and Welsey both had a fun time at the baby brunch trying different healthy snacks and playing with other children in Kansas City Northland. My task for the event was to capture how the moms and babies interact with the products from the national sponsors. Jamie was so thoughful that she used her basement as a play room for older kids during the event while moms and small babies enjoyed the event in her living room. After the sponsors started talking, Billy took Audrey and Wesley to the play area, so I could focus on my tasks. At the end, I also took home with two bags full of samples and goodies from both national and local sponsors. It was great to network with local moms, let my kids social with other kids, taking pictures, and trying new products. Thanks to Jamie and Macaroni Kid for this wonderful event! If you live in Kansas City Northland, including Liberty, North Kansas City, Parkville, Gladstone, and other Northland areas, I highly encourage you to subscribe to the Northland Kansas City Macaroni Kid newsletter and send Jamie some love to the official Northland Kansas City Macaroni Kid Facebook page. This is where I find fun activities for Audrey and Wesley every weekend!
